On a personal note, I am so inspired by my natural surroundings, and I am truly fortunate and blessed to be able to live, work and be creative in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina! There is nothing more satisfying to me than waking in the morning to drink in the ever-changing North Carolina sunrise, then taking my first breaths of the day while my eyes are fixated on the mountainscape that has become my inspirational backdrop. I am truly inspired each day to be creative and let my artistic energy flow. Yes, candle making is an art- one that I take very seriously. It makes me happy to create a product with my own hands, and share it with others who will enjoy it as much as I will! I have always been a lover of candles, incense- anything smelly, really. Well, anything that smells good- that is. After spending a small fortune on candles, incense, etc. I began to become frustrated. Mostly I was frustrated with the product. Either the scent didn't last, there was always a TON of wax stuck to the inside of the container, or the wick would "smother" or "drown" in the pool of wax! UGH! I have always had the DESIRE to be creative- artistic, if you will- but thought I lacked the talent..... You see, I thought to be creative or artistic you had to learn how to draw or paint. Candle making has become a wonderfully fulfilling way of expressing the artist in me that was aching to get out!!!
