A Dream Within A Dream ~ Edgar Allen Poe

A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow–
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand–
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep–while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

New and Improved!!!

Hello and Happy December to all!!!! I have been extremely busy with wonderful new Christmas scents (check for these in another post) and a lovely new collection of soy candles. These candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and contain no dyes or colorants. I use natural essential oils whenever possible, to keep these little lovelies as honest-to-goodness-natural as possible. My absolute favorite is the Rosemary Mint, with Tomato Leaf as a close second…… Other truly delightful scents include Bayberry, Oatmeal Milk and Honey, Tibetan Black Tea, and Olive Blossom. These candles are clean-burning and very long-lasting…try one (or two) today!!

More new fragrances

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer thus far; it never seems to last long enough for me. We wait ever so patiently for it to arrive, then *BOOM* it’s gone in a flash!!

So, I figured I better tell you about some of the wonderful fragrances I’ve created for summer before it gets too late and I have to start working on new ones for fall……

One of the yummiest new scents that Jayde Mountain is pleased to offer is “Summer Sorbet.” It reminds me of fresh flowers and fresh fruit….two of the very things that make summer, well, summer! It is simply a mahhhvelous blend of yellow and white woodsy flowers, fresh lemon slices, melon and other citrus fruits …..ahhhh……this one just oooozes with summer freshness!

This next one could be great for Fall as well….. but it reminds me so much of the outdoors, which is where I love to be in the summertime. “Nature Walk” is a gentle yet unmistakably rustic scent inspired by fresh apples and the invigorating mountain air! You’ll love this one!

I have also introduced a lovely combination of Patchouli and Ylang Ylang. These are 2 of my favorite fragrances (along with Lavendar) so I put them together in a candle and I absolutely love it!!! Ylang Ylang is said to be helpful in many ways… from helping to ease motion sickness, to relieving high blood pressure to being used as an aphrodisiac! Patchouli is from the mint family and its scent is rather  strong. Patchouli has many uses as well, and is very popular used in incense or as an air freshener. Patchouli has also been used to relieve headaches, nausea, colds and abdominal pain. I find the combination of the two fragrances simply blissful!! I will be busy in the next few weeks as well and will soon have dye-free soy candles available which I am very excited about!

In the meantime, give one (or two or three) of these lovely new scents a try and keep checking back for new stuff!!!

Blessings,

Paige

Great New Summer Scents!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

I have been missing Florida lately… I have lived in the glorious Smoky Mountains for almost 8 years and love every minute of it!! However, lately I have been missing South Florida; the sun, sandy beaches, the balmy evening breezes and the undeniably calming scent of the orange groves when the trees are in bloom…ahhhhhh.

This has inspired my latest floral creation simply called “Orange Blossom.” I LOVE this candle. It reminds me of home… I was almost going to name it “Memories of Home” but I opted for the wonderful scent that it really is…..an intoxicating blend of orange blossoms with sweet vanilla undertones and a pinch of fresh raspberries!!! OH my! I think I’m in love!!!!!

New Candles, Baby!!!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

I have been so very busy this week….. not only is tomorrow “THE” American Holiday, and my youngest son gets baptised on Saturday, I have to rush out of town for a swim meet this afternoon, and I have candle orders to fill on top of all of that……..whew!! Well I have made hundreds upon hundreds of candles this week and I am so excited to share them with you!!

The first one has a little story to it. I am the very proud (single) mother of three absolutely wonderful and socially concious children. They (my daughter especially) are very into this “green” thing right now. We recycle, try to conserve as much energy as possible, grow vegetables…etc.

My daughter came up with the name of one of my newest candles based on the “Going Green” principle. She said I should make a candle and simply call it “Green Planet.” I thought that was perfect!!! To come up with this wonderfully “Earthy” scent I combined patchouli with cedar and mossy undertones and blended that with Jasmine and other subtle florals…. It is a beautifully woodsy and somewhat masculine fragrance…give it a try!!!

I will have more to post in a little while…. today my computer has an attitude and is not co-operating… ahhhhh…. c’est la vie…..
